Lee Ford

Lee Ford

 

Lee Ford is a regional vice president for Berlin Packaging, overseeing multiple locations, which include the Dangerous Goods Division. He has been with the company for over 30 years. Lee is a member of the Institute of Packaging Professionals (IoPP), the National Association of Container Distributors' (NACD) Industry Advisory Council, the Dangerous Goods Advisory Council (DGAC), and the Council on Safe Transportation of Hazardous Articles (COSTHA). He is also a member of Berlin Packaging's Chairman's Club, and has won Berlin's top salesperson award 10 times.

Cathy is the marketing & business development specialist for Berlin Packaging’s Dangerous Goods Division. She has been with the company for over two years, and currently serves as co-chair of the membership committee of the Council on Safe Transportation of Hazardous Articles (COSTHA). She earned her bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Detroit Mercy, and a master’s degree in administration from Central Michigan University.

 

Gary Lindsey

Gary has been with Berlin Packaging's Dangerous Goods Division for nearly 22 years. He consults with customers about transport regulations, specific to packaging requirements, to help them comply with domestic and international transport regulations. He assists in the design and manufacture of custom POP packaging (performance oriented packaging) to meet all required UN specifications and ISTA standards, as well as special provisions specific to that hazardous material. Gary earned a bachelor’s degree in applied behavioral science from the University of California, Davis, and is a member of the American Biological Safety Association (ABSA), the Dangerous Goods Advisory Council (DGAC), and the Council on Safe Transportation of Hazardous Articles (COSTHA).

Steve Sowa has been with Berlin Packaging's Dangerous Goods Division for nearly 16 years and is currently the Director of Business Development. He consults with customers about transport regulations, specific to packaging requirements, to help them comply with domestic and international transport regulations. He assists in the design and manufacture of custom POP packaging (performance oriented packaging) and thermal validated packaging systems to meet all required UN specifications and ISTA standards, as well as special provisions specific to that hazardous material. Steve earned a bachelor’s degree in environmental science from the Allegheny College and a master’s degree in environmental science and Management from Duquesne University.  He is also member of the American Biological Safety Association (ABSA), the Dangerous Goods Advisory Council (DGAC), and the Council on Safe Transportation of Hazardous Articles (COSTHA).

Mike Thompson

Mike Thompson

 

Mike Thompson is a senior packaging consultant and covers the mid-West region for Berlin Packaging’s Dangerous Goods Division. He has been with the company for over 11 years, and is a sustaining resource for customers regarding regulatory knowledge, packaging requirements, and making compliance easy. He won a Silver National Association of Container Distributors (NACD) Award for the Zippo “ZAC” Package.  Mike graduated with bachelor of science degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh. He is also a member of the Midwest Area Biosafety Association (MABioN), Dangerous Goods Advisory Council (DGAC), and the Council on Safe Transportation of Hazardous Articles (COSTHA).

Gene Sanders

Gene Sanders, DGSA, CDGT

 

Gene has more than 20 years of extensive exposure working with dangerous goods in pharmaceutical, safety supplies, chemical, educational, and clinical trials environments. He is knowledgeable in DOT, ICAO (A.I.R. & IATA), IMO (IMDG), TDG, and ADR.  Gene is one of the first three people in the world to become a Certified Dangerous Goods Trainer (and thus a Certified Dangerous Goods Professional) in five different sets of transport regulations. Gene has served on the boards of the Dangerous Goods Advisory Council and Dangerous Goods Training Association, and is currently a member of both DGAC and COSTHA. Gene now runs his own classification, training, and consulting company, W.E. Train Consulting.
